Aaaaahhhh! I’m doing it…my very first workout. Guys, I’m kinda excited.
(Bonus that I made a video to go with the workout at the end of this post!)
Confession. I love LOVE fitness. I love how I feel after I work hard. I like working hard because it makes me feel strong and powerful and confident. Top all this love-fest off with a desire to make others feel this way and you then have my mental state. I seriously want you to succeed. Whether or not you like to work hard (and even if you’re scared of it), I believe in you, who you are, and how strong you can be.
Adding fitness into this blog seems natural to me. I love the food aspect of healthiness. Movement comes hand-in-hand with that. My Dynamo people prove that. As a healthy living blog, I want this to be a place that you can come for fuel and fire inspiration. Fuel your body to fire it.
I’ve wanted to share my workouts with you, to give you something you can do, somewhere to start from. I decided why not today? Everyday is a just as good as another to begin something great. If you have specific questions or workouts you’re interested in, I’d love to know!
The workouts will often be generated from weekly training sessions I have with friends. I’m grateful for friends who also love fitness…or at least want to! They are my cheerleaders although they might not know it.
Note – I am not a trained instructor. I wish and maybe someday. These workouts will be based on my own personal experience – take them as such and I hope you gain momentum and happiness in your own workout goals.
I will post an alternative of some exercises. Hopefully this helps you regardless of equipment or experience. When doing any exercise, if it hurts, back off. Patience with your body will be your greatest skill and strongest test at times. If you can’t do the full reps the first time, write down what you can do and then try again, attempting to get more reps the 2nd workout session.
It’s true that abs are made in the kitchen, but after all that good eating, you’re only going to see them if you work them. Fight any fear you have with bravery. Out of a mind/body/soul focus…fitness really hits all three areas for me. Your mind will be clearer, your body healthier, and your soul more balanced. These can outweigh any fear you might feel. Fitness starts small.
One more confession, this new thing scares the heck out of me. I think that means it’s worth it. I do know that it’s important, that I’m passionate about it, and that a balance of mind/body/soul can change lives. This tiny little video is a step into something new, something that is part of my story.
Sending my love to you and your greatness.
Here’s the demo video for this workout, set to one of my favorite songs…we can think of summer together:
