My husband works for Intel. His degrees are in physics and he kinda likes to do math. I got my degree in English. So between the two of us, it’s a pretty good balance. I straddle the humanities and him the sciences. It’s fun because we can help the kids with different things that we feel passionate about. And I think math is pretty cool. It always made me feel like a genius when I figured things out (way back in high school when I did those kinds of problems…wow, that makes me feel old saying that).
Anyway, at Tyler’s work they have a great cafe with lots of food options. There are healthful choices everywhere. The kids and I like to go and visit for lunch (we might let them get pizza slices) and I like to get something I wouldn’t usually have.
Enter the hummus plate.
Not that I hadn’t done this before, but not as a specific “dish.” Hummus and veggies, a little bread, sure. But now, I serve it all dished up as an actual meal. Thank you Intel cafe for the inspiration. It helps cut down my snacking if I actually feel like I’m eating a meal. They served their with 3 different types of hummus, veggies, and bread. Here’s mine with sun-dried tomato peperoncini hummus. I love this new lunch! Think of it as a deconstructed salad.
