Our blender died yesterday. (I had one like this cuisinart combo but kitchen aid brand). It’s been going the path of a slow death, sounding more clanging and grinding every time I’ve turned it on. I was starting to worry about my own safety. Does a blender explode when it dies? Do I need to wear eye protection?
The answer is no. It will do a rather large poof of smoke as you are blending (from where the blender and base connect) and stink really bad. At least that’s what happened here. My 2-year-old kept saying “stinky” and “die” the rest of the day when he saw the blender.
Like we wanted one more thing to pay for!! We’ve said when this blender dies, we’ll get a blendtec, but now that the time’s arrived, it’s a lot of money to shell out. I think we’ll still do it, but I’m cringing.
My favorite part about the whole thing is when I told my 7-year-old, his very first response was, “what are we going to do with all our spinach?!” I love it. We use the ginormous bags of spinach from costco for “Jamba Juices” at our house. I love that that’s the first place his mind went. Good boy.
Moving on to sweeter things.
It’s so good and you should make some today. I first tried it when my friend Sierra brought it to us as a holiday “treat.” I love the idea and I might have eaten the whole bag without sharing. Yes, yes I did. But the kids love it too and the little coconut nutty clusters that get stuck together…heaven. I search the bowl just for those. It’s one of those things you make that you try to walk by just so you can take another bite. I promise, it’s that dangerous.
