New series alert! I have wanted to do this for a while…so here it goes.
We all have favorite things. Some are probably the same and some are definitely different. I often think about hosting yet another favorite things party so I can share more of mine with my friends, then I realized I can share these with you lovely readers…because I really do care. Maybe it will be my favorite Trader Joe’s chocolate or workout equipment or cleaner. Maybe it will be socks and books and a spotify playlist. Perhaps it is my serving tray, yoga mat, and cat litter. No matter what, I hope I can share something with you that makes your life a little easier and brighter.
Favorite Things are the ones that make me happy, are useful, and make life more pleasant. This is not a sponsored post, simply my favorite things that given the money, I would happily gift to you. Most recently it’s the following:
Cactus – I always killed everything green. But within this past year I’ve succeeded in indoor succlents and cactus (because it’s really hard to kill them). This particular pencil cactus is so cool! It’s not prickly so you can brush it with your hand and when it gets big it looks totally unique to other cacti.
Aquaphor – This is my favorite lip balm/chapstick. I keep it in my purse and in my makeup. I enjoy that it doesn’t have a scent and it makes my lips feel super soft. I also like that no matter how much you put on you don’t get that weird white chapstick remnant around your lips after a while. That’s not just me, right? (Here’s some tips to getting rid of it.)
This is also awesome for dry skin patches that show up on your kids’ faces when the weather gets cold – in a larger tub. I massage it on my kids (the he patches usually come around their mouth) overnight and by morning they are so much better. I repeat this nightly during the cold season. Anywhere that needs protection from too much moisture will be grateful for this.
Original Art – My artist friend Lisa Jensen of lisajensenart.com specializes in abstract landscapes that are a-maz-ing. (see her gallery and contact her to commission your own). I scored one of her geometric watercolors and I’m excited to find the perfect frame and place for it in my home. Here’s her Etsy store for more available.
Bluetooth Speaker – You need a home gym with music. When I host workouts, when I do yoga, and when I listen to podcasts while doing the dishes…this little UE Mini Boom (affiliate link) is my favorite. I got it several months ago and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Costco for this one. It has awesome sound and clarity and gets nice and loud if you want. I think it’s cool you can have more than one and they all sync with your device simultaneously. You could have some awesome surround sound. On the original site, it looks like they are selling other versions too.
That’s it this time. I hope you surround yourself with things you love and make you feel like a better person. I hope you can declutter enough to enjoy the things that really make a difference in your life. You really are worth it. I’m sending love to each of you. May you live mindful and big.
