Marco is a lifter and a spinner, dedicated to achieving goals, and passionate about inspiring others. He was full of positive vibes and was generous with his time to talk with me.
We met at the mall. I was in the lego store with my kids. They were building and browsing and Marco was there with his son too. As the kids played, I realized it was the perfect opportunity to talk about healthy living. I feel grateful for Marco’s willingness, for my eye to see an opportunity, and for a world filled with so many amazing people.

What does healthy living mean to you?
For me it’s a lifestyle that I get up every day and work out, eat, it means clean living. So it’s a way of life. I think it makes you a better person. As far as what I achieve for work and being a father, it influences me in such a great way, it’s never giving up. Just keep going. What you start you will finish and achieve your goal.
How has your example motivated or inspired others?
It’s a visual thing. If they see that I live a healthy lifestyle and ask me questions, I enjoy answering questions about health and fitness. As far as being in this place to see what I have, the way I act, the way I live, how happy I am, working out, it changes the whole mood of you. To me I look at it as therapy. Every day when I work out and live that lifestyle, I’m a lot happier when I get out of bed.
Mostly co-workers. I’ve influenced my co-workers into actually going back to the gym, working out, and just getting back into it. People who haven’t worked out in years all of a sudden ask me questions about working out. Now they’re back in the gym; joined a gym and right back at it and it wasn’t like a new year’s resolution. They just did it because.
What type of fitness do you enjoy doing?
When I’m in the gym I do the spinning bike. As far as in the gym, I do different kind of high reps, I definitely do heavy weight, just a constant movement in the gym. I usually go from one workout opportunity, to the next, to the next, depending on what body part I’m working on that day. Lots of sets. I actually just work up a sweat lifting weights.
What is a goal you have right now?
Be the best that I can be. To be the best person that I can be, as far as getting what I going to get out of it. Not really comparing myself to anyone else. Be the best that I can be for my fitness. I set goals and every time I set a goal I go for another goal. Every so many months I’ll set a goal, reach that goal, set another goal. It’s constantly setting goals as far as keep going, and going, and going.
What’s a piece of advice you like to share?
Stay healthy, never give up, never get discouraged, know it’s not going to happen overnight. It’s a time period. You want to make it a part of your life instead of a chore. Nobody likes doing chores. Make it a lifestyle. Get up everyday. You look forward to doing it.
What do you want to be remembered for?
Inspiring people. Inspiring people in a positive way. When they see me be happy and know that I give off that positive vibe every time you’re around me.
