Sisters can be awesome.
My sister Anna came to visit me recently and each day just blended into the next as we visited, she helped me with the kids, and we had simple, easy, and fun conversation together.
We each made ourselves vulnerable, the only way to make a relationship grow, and came away with a stronger bond and hopefully a closer future.
We talked about important stuff, we cried, we laughed, we were silly, and we had tickle fights with my kids.
Some shoe and jewelry shopping was squeezed into the visit, too. You’ve got to take advantage of a shopping buddy while you’ve got it!
She made my week go more smoothly and it felt so natural and easy. It was sad to see her leave, but good because I felt closer to her than I ever have been.
Sometimes it’s hard when you and siblings are several years apart. Or maybe just hundreds of miles apart. It takes work to make bonds strong.
In all our visiting, we talked a lot about being healthy.
Anna has some awesome fitness and healthy eating goals and I’m super proud of her dedication and hard work. She’s going to rock it!
It makes this blog even more important to me to think of it helping someone so close to me. Eating cleaner and simpler really makes a huge difference. You feel on your game, ready to include fitness into your lifestyle. And if you keep with it long enough, it’s second nature.
I can’t believe it’s been 1 1/2 years of eating this way. There is definitely a transition, but a new cadence will come through for you.
So with all this in mind, I didn’t get to make this meal for Anna before she left and I think she’ll love it.
